I find myself, every day to be exact, more readily to receive the nature of God. I find peace, but at the same time nothing has changed in my life from what I can see. What does a person do in the moment of medias res? I’m in the middle of everything, I’m growing in stature, but nothing is changing around me. The the spirit grows, but the body and the nature around remains the same. There is one surety I have in this predicament. There is a time for everything according to Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time. ” [AMPC]
There is an indescribable yet permanent position of being in the middle of the past and future, which is the suspenseful present. I can’t lament or idolize my past so I look in expectation towards my future, but in many ways, I feel stuck in the present. How do I crossover to my future, without forgetting what I have learned from the past, yet moving on from the present?
Well, Ecclesiastes 3:11 expresses that he has "planted eternity in men’s hearts and mind [ a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."[AMPC] So, there is good news, I am in the right place and so are you. We have to learn to be at peace in the middle, because God has contained and truly knows our start to finish. There is no way to escape being in the middle.
Be encouraged, knowing God has the plans and we have the ability. This means the plans for our lives, if we submit to God’s purposes, can be brought to fruition if we do what Micah 6:8 says "do justly, and to love kindness and mercy and to humble yourself and to walk humbly with your God" [AMPC]. Our abilities must be encased in what is right morally and knowing that our worth is not encased in time, but with our God. Suddenly, our eyes become aware of our new nature within Christ that can’t live by the time clock of man. That our purpose lies within the seasons that God bestows upon us. Therefore, we no longer need to pridefully frustrate and confuse ourselves with a system of time that God lives outside of. We must do justly and humble ourselves and live our lives humbly with God and not time. Learning to live in the middle is learning to live in the now with God.
I say to myself and to others who have felt the same about time, Jeremiah 29: 11 "For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil to give you hope in your final outcome." [AMPC] God is in charge and time is not. That is all we need to know. Enjoy the middle, always ready to bloom in the plans that God has for you.
