What does it mean to be free? Am I grounded or am I free? Do boundaries protect or hinder my freedom? At a time of scarcity the only thing that can protect my personhood is the grounding of my soul. To have a source of peace, to have a source of love, to be provided for. Water when everything else withers. What more could I ask for? A will to know that my greatest treasure is not laid without, but within, where my Source is.
Often, I wonder what more do I want? Maybe a better question would be, “Why do I want?” Understanding contentment is more than avoiding the yearning for materialistic things. Understanding contentment is gaining the insight to the mindset we must have in all things. To understand the true fact that our needs will be taken care of if we decide to trust. During this time, as l delve into new territory, it is important that I understand the meaning of being content with who I am, what I have to offer and who provides me with everything that I have.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:8
