On The Bright Side

Focus of Thought:

How do I create? Personally, I enjoy creative writing, but many times I stop working through an original idea that I have, because I start to lose faith as the clear vision I once saw is now changing into a muddied idea. Surely, this can attribute to bad story structure, but it feels like I have hit a mental wall that I can’t get over. This does not only apply to writing, but it can apply to relationships, financial instability or any problem that can be thought of. How do I create a solution for clarity, freedom and or success to overcome an obstacle?

Expression of Thought:

In Genesis 1, we get a glimpse into the formation of the earth and a mirror into our creative ability. The first command of God was light. In Genesis 1:3-4 notice it says “And God said, let there be light; and there was light. And God saw that it was (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it; and God separated the light from darkness.” [AMPC] Why did God need to separate the light from the darkness? In this meaning of light, we are not talking about the difference of day and night as mentioned in Genesis 1:5. We are talking about Jesus. In John 1:1-4, it reads “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him, not one thing was made. In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men” [AMPC]. Further explained in II Corinthians 4:6, the Light “… has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty of and the glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [AMPC]. Creativity, specifically for the believer, starts with Light. The Light that lives within us can be used for our creativity as it breaks darkness and brings Life to strongholds in many places and people throughout the earth; including the situations we face. We have to remember that as He is, so are we ,and wherever we go there is a Light and Life that we carry that shines into the darkness, and it’s not a little one.

How do we shine our Light and bring forth Life, the creative forces within us, to change darkness into light? Let’s further look into the creation of man. In Genesis 1:26 “God said, Let Us [Father, Son and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our own image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the [tame] beast, and over all of the earth and over everything that creeps upon the earth”.[AMPC] Then it says that in Genesis 1:28 that “God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it using all its vast resources in the service of God and man…”. [AMPC] As He has authority, we have authority ,and we can use what we have within this earth to create whatever needs to be done to expel the darkness that exist, through the Word of God. Whatever God says, throughout Genesis 1 and throughout the bible, it happens. Therefore, as Jesus is Light, Life and the Word, we must use the Word and whatever comes of it to create; further expelling the darkness and propelling the light in all things, including our personal situations.

Whether a writer, business woman, mom or a dad. We are made in the image and likeness of God, and with His Light, Life and Word we should be able to create. God is not bound, to anything, but his Word. In Titus 1: 2, NLT translation, it states that “This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God-who does not lie-promised them before the word began.”

Since the Word is a carrier to bring Life and Light into any situation. It is good that we find scriptures that relate to our situation that will bring amazing change. Any outcome happens by making a choice within our minds. It is a choice to create a solution for clarity, freedom and or success, because we have the ability to do it by design. Stay on the bright side and not the dark side. How else can we grow without the Son?
