I am Remembered

Focus of Thought:

Life is unfair, but we serve a just God, and therefore we have rights. We are not forgotten.

Expression of Thought:

There are many times throughout our life where we feel forgotten about. No encouraging words from friends, no hobbies, or anything under the sun is sure to help us rid of the feeling of being forgotten. We open our bibles, sing a song to God, but our words seem empty. “How can God take pleasure or do anything with nothingness.” We may feel forgotten, but every feeling that derives from this earthly realm won’t remain forever because we have an eternal father. “They will perish, but You remain and continue permanently; they will all grow old and wear out..” Hebrews 1:11 [AMPC].

Our enemies, no matter what or whom it may be, can not stand against the justice of God. In Psalm 9:8 it says that “ He will judge the world on righteousness (rightness and equity) ; He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness” [AMPC]. To have justice there must be laws or standards to be upheld. It is true that we can not earn any of what God does for us, but there is a standard that we must take part of. In verse 10 it says that “ they who know Your name will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity] [AMPC]. In the bible God’s Word means His actual words and Jesus "In The beginning was the Word (Christ) and the Word was with God” John 1:1 [AMPC]. To seek God out of necessity means to long for him as it is written in Psalm 42:1 “As The hart pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long for You, O God” [AMPC]. So, when we feel forgotten and we open our bibles to read God’s Word and we try to sing and call out to God and we feel as nothing happened, we must remember that we did the very thing that God’s justice responds to. He will take our case and remember us in that instant. “For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and the poor shall not perish forever” Psalm 9:18 [AMPC].

In the kingdom of God we have rights from a just God who cares about us. I encourage you to meditate on this throughout the day and especially when you start to feel forgotten “I will cast all of my cares because the Lord takes thought and plans for me” (Ps. 40:17, Ps. 70:1-5, I Peter 5:7) Don't forget, that you are remembered.
